My Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in collaboration, expertise, respect, and understanding. I believe that therapy is a partnership where we work together to explore your experiences, challenges, and goals. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and adults facing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), phobias, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem and body image concerns, and various life transitions. Additionally, I offer parenting sessions to support families in developing effective strategies for managing the behaviors of school-aged children at home.
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my expertise in treating various mental health conditions enables us to engage in honest communication and collaboration to determine the most effective strategies for your unique needs.
Education and Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biobehavioral Health from The Pennsylvania State University and my Masters in School Psychology and Doctor of Psychology in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University. I have gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds in various settings, including schools, mental health clinics, day treatment programs, and hospitals.
During my training, I completed a psychology externship at the New York City Children’s Center, where I provided individual and group therapy to children and adolescents. I then completed my predoctoral internship at Jacobi Medical Center, focusing on health psychology and trauma intervention.
I most recently served as the School Psychologist at The Brearley School in NYC, where I provided both individual and group counseling, classroom behavioral support, and consultation services for parents and teachers to support the well-being of elementary school girls.
In addition to my clinical work, I have presented on a variety of mental health and wellness topics for diverse audiences, including parents, educators, and school administrators. I am also an active member of the American Psychological Association, which allows me to stay connected to current research, best practices, and ongoing developments in the field of psychology.
